Angelus Oaks

Rode Angelus Oaks on Sunday. I thought I might get rained on, but that was just wishful thinking.I did Two 8-mile loops, climbing middle control twice. Kinda loose but not that bad. I felt good probaly should have done two more loops but there was BEER waiting for me at BevMo! This was my second ride since my horiffic performance at Rim Nordic. I think I'm over it now. I have one more week of cleaning pools for the Milkman since he's still in Durango. Then I'll be back on track with my training if thats what you want to call it. I have two more short cross-country races to do before I start my long distance training again. that might be why I have no power. Ive been doing the all day training this year with very little short stuff. I don't know I'll figure it out sooner or later .

Rim Nordic

Rim Nordic tore me up this weekend. I pre-rode on Saturday morning after work when I probaly should have been sleeping. Being awake for 14-hours then pre-riding a course might not be a good idea. the course was brutal. Alot of up and not much down. When race day came I still felt tired. I got about 10-hours of sleep but I still felt like I had no power from the start.I don't like to make excuses and I hate to DNF, but I think working grave yard for 5-years straight is starting to get to me. PHYSICALLY!! I didn't DNF, even though I probally should have. It took me 3-hrs and 10-min. to complete the 25-1/2 mile course. To my surprise I wasn't the last person out on course. I guess Rim Nordic took it's toll on more than one. 1st place in my class did it in 2-hrs & 16-min. Last year i took the day off before each race to get a little rest but this year I've had to work a bit more. I don't know what to do about this. I'm just hopin I get one good result in this year to make all this suffering worthe while. the next Rim Nordic race in August is a stage race. saturday being short track and hill climb and Sunday cross country. I'm registered for both. We'll have to see what happens with that. Monday was a 1-1/2 hour spin on the road out in E. Highland. I still felt kinda drained. Until next time........VeEZemaN Out!

Team B.S. ride

After Saturday nights splurge of jagerbombs and beer and a overload of testosterone from watching the fights I was up for an easy ride on Sunday so we decided to do the Beach trail from Waterman to Van Buren. All I heard from the group was "this is great, sure don't seam like we are in San Bernardino." We parked at the citi bank across from Sizzler. I've riden this section a few times now and I just knew I had to get T.B.S. out on this trail to show them that there ain't no graffiti or gangsta's lurking around the bend. every one had a good time so I guess it was a good call. 32-miles just under 2-hours.
Today I think I should rest . I rode every do last week to work and i'll be doing it again this week. I've gottin 263-miles in this month so far with just under 17-hours of pedaling. So today is clean the bike's day and laundry.
I Got Rim nordic this Sunday. I need to switch out a rear tire. I'm running a set of small blocks(2.1) I'm going to put a 1.9 small block on the rear .See if that will help out my momentum this weekend. The goal for this race is to knock off at least 10-minutes of my time from the last race there or at least 10-minutes closer to the podium. This one is a state race so it should be a good turn out. Including my training and commuting to work this month, I'm also cleaning pools for the Milkman on Tuesday's and Thursday's. He's of to Durango for a few weeks and this year I won't be able to make it :( .So I'm helping out a bit. There is always next year for Colorado. Maybe the Durango100 next August. We'll have to wait and see. Time to make Breakfast. LATE. veezeman oUt !

commute

Monday the 2nd I started commuting to work. I leave my house at around 9p.m. to get to work by 10 o'clock. It's not that bad of a commute once you get out of the Ghetto. On the way home I can lengthin my ride to make it more of a work out. It's a good 16-mile sprint. Takes me about an hour both ways. Fastest time this week was wednday morning. It took me 53-minutes.
This morning around 4:30a.m. I left my house to go do some hill repeats on Baseline hill in East Highland. My commute to work is mostly flat so decided I needed to get some climbing in.
Since Sunday I've got'n 178-miles in and 11 hours of pedaling. Lets see If I can keep it up. I'm hoping to be able to do this all month and see how much gas money I can save. I'm still paying off my gas card from my kokopelli ride and i think i'll be able to afford my gps by next month if I keep this up. I plan on going to Brian Head to do the Epic. Team Big Bear has nothing to do with it this year. It's going to be self-supported, no entry, no podium, no shwag. Just Beer and ice cream at the end Hopefully some pizza too. Theres talk of lengthining the ride and make it a loop instead of an out and back. Should be exciting.
Sunday the 8th we (TEAM B.S.) plan on doing the beach trail from Waterman to Van Buren. I'm going to add some miles by doing Greenspot Rd. to Redlands. I'll be leaving early in the wee hours. I'll be at Stell coffee shop at the corner of Alabama and Barton Rd. when they open if anyone wants to meet up. I'm starting to ramble on so it's time to stop.Later......Vzman OUt!
