A day at Rim Nordic
Before I even put my number plate on I was bleeding.
The chunk of tree I pulled from my knee.
As i was leaning my Bike against a tree I turned around and stepped on a tree branch that popped up and stabbed me in the knee. So I had to bust out the first-aid kit and do some minor tree removal from my knee. Thats how my day started. Other than the bleeding and stiff knee it wasn't that bad of a day. I had a terrible start with no power in the legs up the first climb. The train left without me but instead of going into auto pilot mode I kept at it. I finished 6th out of 9. Not to bad. I made one pass on the first lap and three passes on the 3rd lap but one guy caught back to me at the first water station and i couldn't keep up. If i could have it would have been 5th. I didn't have the best lap times but my body worked with me at this one. All and all I felt pretty good and it was a fun day;-)
Instead of Pre riding the course on saturday I decided togo up to the Santa Ana River Trail and enjoy some fun single track to clear the mind and cool water crossing to escape the I.E. heat

COld mountain water
I just wanted to jump in

12 hours of Temecula
The heat kicked my ass! thats all i can say. i got 6-laps in and called it a day around 5:30. After my 4th lap I took a mandatory break as the promoters sad i wasn't looking to good. i had planned on taking a break anyway. I probaly should have rested more during the peak hours of the day when the temps were in the low 100's but thats just an excuse. IT WAS HOT!!! and I wasn't prepared for the conditions is the simple fact. In my mind I told myself i could go all day but my body said yeh right. live and learn.
