Rim Nordic

Rim Nordic tore me up this weekend. I pre-rode on Saturday morning after work when I probaly should have been sleeping. Being awake for 14-hours then pre-riding a course might not be a good idea. the course was brutal. Alot of up and not much down. When race day came I still felt tired. I got about 10-hours of sleep but I still felt like I had no power from the start.I don't like to make excuses and I hate to DNF, but I think working grave yard for 5-years straight is starting to get to me. PHYSICALLY!! I didn't DNF, even though I probally should have. It took me 3-hrs and 10-min. to complete the 25-1/2 mile course. To my surprise I wasn't the last person out on course. I guess Rim Nordic took it's toll on more than one. 1st place in my class did it in 2-hrs & 16-min. Last year i took the day off before each race to get a little rest but this year I've had to work a bit more. I don't know what to do about this. I'm just hopin I get one good result in this year to make all this suffering worthe while. the next Rim Nordic race in August is a stage race. saturday being short track and hill climb and Sunday cross country. I'm registered for both. We'll have to see what happens with that. Monday was a 1-1/2 hour spin on the road out in E. Highland. I still felt kinda drained. Until next time........VeEZemaN Out!

Comments:
wow! sounds like it was a rough day for alot of people. i could not believe the times, so much longer than last year. Glad I didn't end up racing, needed to keep the stress level low in prep for VT (we leave tonight, and ya the stress level is NOW high). Just getting the bike packed up properly and making sure you have the right gear for the ever changing east coast weather!

Best of luck and rubber side down...Watch out for the roots
